Our design process has been honed over many years and we are uniquely qualified to serve your project's needs. Our approach is client-centered and site specific, so we view the design process as a “conversation” with both the client and the land. The firm is a design boutique. All interactions between the client and the firm are with Steve, so that the client is always engaged with the principal. The design process is based in an extended discussion with the client to determine lifestyle preferences and requirements for their landscape that also allows Steve to identify site specifics and suggest adaptations so that the clients’ preferences can be implemented in a way most fitting to their site. Through this conversation the resulting landscape installation is indeed uniquely suited to both the client and the setting.
Discovery and Discussion
- On-site meeting with the client
- Discussions about the site goals and objectives
- Investigation of existing features of the site that can influence the design
- Setting the program or wish list- i.e. would you like a pool or outdoor area for entertaining or perhaps a formal garden?
Concept Design Generation
- Generation of conceptual drawings to discuss design options with the client
- Designs can be general or specific in resolution- suitable for solicitation of competitive bids
- Designs at this stage also help answer the questions "How long will this take?" and "When can we start?" etc.
Final Design and Implementation
- Designs are finalized and synthesized into construction documents
- Designs are delivered to the contractor or as an optional service, we can aid in the solicitation of and evaluation of competitive bids and observe the construction process
